DANCERS ARE REQUIRED TO HIGH STANDARDS OF PROFESSIONALISM AS INSTRUCTED SINCE BEG. OF SCHOOL YEAR AND REMINDED MULTIPLE TIMES THROUGHOUT YEAR.

**Venue does not want/like food inside, due to mess; however, as long as dancers CLEAN UP AFTER SELVES, and for healthy blood sugar levels, students there from 3:00-8:00, so healthy light snacks, waters every dancer should ALWAYS have on hand anyway, as instructed in dance class! Healthy, light snacks: granola bars, protein bars, apples, raisins, fruits, bottles of water DISCREETLY in small personal cooler, bag. Bring own garbage bags to take garbage with. Dancers should try to eat before 3:00, should never have large heavy meal before performance.
--CLEANING SUPPLIES: Make-up/personal wipes, paper towels, sanitizer/disin wipes to clean up any spills, makeup on counter
--GARBAGE BAGS (publix, store bags) to use as own garbage, take with if garbage full

**DANCERS WILL BE ASSIGNED TO A DRESSING ROOM AND ARE TO REMAIN IN THEIR ASSIGNED DRESSING ROOM UNTIL READY TO LINE UP AGAINST WALL FOR THEIR DANCE, OUT OF WAY. DANCERS ARE INSTRUCTED TO STAY WITH CLASS, WARM-UP, STRETCH, REHEARSE, GET READY, PAY ATTENTION TO LINE-UP**

**ALL DANCERS ARE TO CLEAN UP AFTER SELVES, THROW AWAY THEIR GARBAGE, AND PACK UP IMMEDIATELY AFTER READY AND/OR THEIR LAST DANCE/PERFORMANCE SO THEY ARE READY TO LEAVE WHEN SHOW IS OVER**
DANCERS ARE TO CONFIRM DRESSING ROOMS ARE CLEAN WITH GARBAGE PROPERLY PUT IN GARBAGE CANS, OR TAKE WITH THEM IN THEIR OWN REQUIRED ASSIGNED GARBAGE BAGS BEFORE LEAVING!!

Costume Care and Backstage Etiquette are essential requirements of the Dance Curriculum. Dance students are instructed and reminded in dance classes. Performance, Costume Care, and Backstage Etiquette are graded and assessed per class and teamwork is required.

Failure to complete ALL DANCER REQUIREMENTS and ASSIGNMENTS (Costume care, accessories, supplies, make-up, hair, nails, time schedules, dressing room and backstage policies, procedures, etiquette, conduct, professionalism, cleaning up, and RESPECT) may result in NOT PERFORMING on stage, multiple grade and conduct deductions, and/or any further school disciplinary actions on students record.

ZERO TOLERANCE for MISCONDUCT and/or DISRESPECT.
No refunds on costumes due to costume company availability supply, and/or students' own failure of eligibility and/or lack of requirements, conduct, and responsibilities resulting in not performing on stage. 
DANCERS NOT IN FULL COSTUME ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO PERFORM ON STAGE.
Failure to arrive and perform will result in 0% grades.

MIDDLE SCHOOL SHOW DAY INFORMATION:

DATE: WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 18th

  • 3:00-3:30PM- ALL VPA STUDENTS SIGN IN AT PRINCETON GYM WITH THEIR VPA TEACHER.

(AT 3:31PM STUDENT’S ARE LATE! PLAN TO BE ON TIME.)

  • DRESSED IN FIRST COSTUME & FED EARLY DINNER ON OWN.  (DO NOT EAT OR DRINK IN COSTUME. NO FOOD OR DRINK IN THE DRESSING ROOMS OR HALLWAYS. NO UBER EATS OR PARENT FOOD DELIVERIES. WE MAY HAVE A FOOD TRUCK STUDENTS CAN PURCHASE FOOD, OR PIZZA DELIVERED FOR ALL STUDENTS, PENDING INFORMATION ON THAT BUT BETTER PREPARED TO PLAN TO PACK SNACKS AND A SANDWICH IN CASE STUDENT GETS HUNGRY.)

  • 3:30PM- All students with quick changes must put their extra costumes on the garment rack (labeled with their name on the hanger) in the locker room.
  • 3:50PM- Rehearsal begins starting with all in curtain call. Sit on bleachers to run finale and curtain call. Then we will begin from beginning scene to the ending scene.
  • 5:10PM- STUDENTS MUST BE IN THEIR “PLACES”/Dressing rooms
  • 5:30PM- DOORS WILL OPEN FOR PARENTS
  • 5:58PM- DOORS CLOSE
  • 6:00PM- SHOW WILL START PROMPTLY

·         8:30PM-9:00PM- END OF SHOW/ ESTIMATED TIME OF CURTAIN CALL/BOWS: DISMISSED FROM YOUR VPA TEACHERS, AFTER CONFIRMATION OF CLEANED ASSIGNED DRESSING ROOMS

CONFIRM AGAIN ALL CLEAN BEFORE LEAVING, REPORT ANY VIOLATIONS TO SUPERVISING STAFF PERSONNEL (Ms. Shaw, Teachers, Staff, Backstage Assistants) IMMEDIATELY AND BEFORE DISMISSAL.
Dancers dismissed from backstage, exit building.

Parents not allowed backstage. Supervising staff and personnel is backstage. Dancers are to be self-independent, responsible, respectful, professional, and clean up after themselves at ALL TIMES, regardless of age.

Stage rehearsals before the show:

*Dance and Performance MAIN percentage of grade in DANCE class. Students are REQUIRED to DANCE and PERFORM in Dance class and performances. In RARE instance where dance student cannot DUE TO OWN FAILURE IN ELIGIBILITY (UNSATISFACTORY GRADES, MISCONDUCT, School Probations/Suspensions, etc) MUST COMPLETE ASSIGNMENTS AND NOT ALLOWED TO BE BACKSTAGE AT SHOW. NO REFUNDS ON COSTUMES PURCHASED
